Requirements

  • macOS 26 or later
  • A Mac with Apple silicon
  • Touch ID recommended (a password works too)
  • A few gigabytes of free space; you set the limit

About permissions

DejaVu needs Screen Recording to remember your screen. The direct edition can also use Accessibility to read text from windows exactly. Neither permission sends anything off your Mac.

Install in a minute

  1. Open the download

    Open DejaVu.dmg and drag DejaVu to your Applications folder.

  2. Open DejaVu

    The welcome screen explains exactly what is kept, where, and how to pause or delete it.

  3. Allow Screen Recording

    macOS asks once. Click Open System Settings, turn DejaVu on, then come back.

  4. Start remembering

    DejaVu lives in your menu bar. Press ⇧⌘Space to search.
